Verifone has ankled Irni Palar as the general manager of its domestic operations in Indonesia. Based in Jakarta occupying a newly opened office facility, Palar spearheads Verifone’s commitment to providing world-class payment technology and collaborating with banks and its partner community in Indonesia.
Irni comes to Verifone from Mastercard where she was the Indonesia director and with experience gained at American Express and PT Bank Mega. She graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Portland State University in the United States.
Though largely cash-dominated, Indonesia is experiencing growth in payment cards acceptance with transaction volume increasing by about 124% in 2015 as compared to 2010 according Lafferty Group. Verifone is working closely with key acquirers in Indonesia including government banks to enable financial institutions, retailers and various industry verticals to benefit from best-of-breed payment solutions. Earlier this year, Verifone announced a partnership with Wirecard.
The new office features a demo room to showcase Verifone’s next-generation payment devices that enable merchants and partners with consumer interactivity, next-generation security and omni-channel capabilities. Demo’s will include multiple forms of payment acceptance such as contactless, chip and pin, magnetic strip, and a variety of mobile pay and wallets.
