Western Union Expands Mobile Services to Sprint Prepaid Brands

Western Union global payment services announced users of Sprint prepaid brands Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA now have access to Western Union® mobile money transfer services. Sprint’s Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile customers can initiate a Western Union Money Transfer® transaction directly from the Money Center within the Boost Zone and Virgin Zone portals on their mobile phones. Western Union mobile money transfer services available through Boost Zone and Virgin Zone are enabled for select Android®-powered smartphones. Wells Fargo Waives Remittance Transfer Fees to Flood Victims

Wells Fargo & Company is temporarily waiving all remittance transfer fees for ExpressSend® transfers from a linked checking or savings account for customers sending money using the ExpressSend service to friends and family impacted by the floods in the Philippines. The fee waiver is effective August 26, through September 15, 2013. The ExpressSend service allows your beneficiary to receive funds at over 6,400 locations in the Philippines, including all offices of BPI, BDO Unibank, M. Lhuillier, Metrobank and Cebuana Lhuillier.

ANZ Launches mBanking App for Android

ANZ launched ANZ Transactive – Mobile for Android devices to provide its corporate customers with even greater visibility and control of their cash management activities. Western Union Expands mTransfer Service

Western Union launched its new mobile money transfer service letting users send money into a mobile wallet. The new mobile money transfer service to integrates directly with eSewa, one of the leading digital wallet platforms in Nepal with more than 200,000 registered users. The functionality was developed through the collaborative efforts of Western Union, its Agent Nabil Bank Limited, and FonePay Pvt. Ltd., the owner of eSewa. Consumers in Nepal who subscribe to the eSewa mobile wallet now have the option of receiving a Western Union Money Transfer® transaction on their mobile phones, or through eSewa’s web interface. International money transfers for mobile pick-up can be initiated at westernunion.com in 23 countries, or at participating Western Union Agent locations worldwide.

Dynamics Launches Branded Magstripe

This week Dynamics introduced another breakthrough in credit card design with the Industry’s first fully branded magnetic stripe. Introduced on the newly issued Longaberger ePlate Visa card, the previously plain dark mag stripe has now become a part of the overall card design. On the back of the card, Longaberger card holders are now reminded of that company’s “Made in America” commitment by a magnetic stripe design that features the company’s signature weave of an American flag. ePlate cards, were previously unbranded, and with the Longaberger version of the card, they now offer two branded designs on the front of the card featuring the Longaberger basket branding, or their signature “weave” design across the front of the card. On the back of the card, where users have become accustomed to a plain dark magnetic stripe, they will now find the Longaberger signature “weave” design featuring the American flag, which reinforced Longaberger’s commitment to American-made products.

EMVCo Announces Discover as its Latest Member

Discover Financial Services has become the latest payment network to join the growing membership of EMVCo, the EMV® standards body. Discover will work alongside EMVCo’s existing members to manage and evolve the contact and contactless EMV industry specifications to facilitate worldwide interoperability and acceptance of secure chip payment instruments. Discover has acquired a one-sixth share of EMVCo from the respective holdings of its current member-owners American Express, JCB, MasterCard, UnionPay and Visa. It will therefore have an equal interest in the standards body, actively contributing to the management, technical work and operations of EMVCo.

B+S Card Service Launches ePayment

B+S Card Service launched its Electronic Payment Advice (EPA) reporting tool to UK merchants. The EPA function is a daily report format that integrates with merchants accounting software to instantly provide detailed payment information. Daily report format has to be seen with respect to agreed date of payment, i.e. report is only available after payments are completed. This integration presents relevant payment information quickly and clearly to merchants making it easier for them to attain an overview of transactions. EPA presents payment information in various levels of detail, from payment at invoice number level to individual transaction level offering merchants a convenient and immediate overview of their electronic payments.
