Three leading payment technology companies have combined specialties to produce an award-winning payment solution. Praxell, a prepaid card program manager; card marketing and production partner Arroweye Solutions, Inc.; and secure payment and ID solution provider ABnote have combined their capabilities to produce and fulfill an award-winning, first-ever combination municipal identification and banking card. The card program, developed by SF Global for the City of Oakland, California offers a secure identification and banking solution to the unbanked community. Arroweye’s patented digital on-demand technology enables the high level of customization required to produce each individual card, which includes a photo ID and other personal identification information. ABnote manufactures secure cards which are very effective against reproduction and tampering, like the technology used on other ID documents such as a driver’s license and a national ID.

USA Technologies Refines Customer Agreements

USA Technologies entered into three new exclusive agreements with existing customers during the third quarter ending June 30, 2013, adding to the exclusive agreements already entered into in Fiscal 2013. The three agreements call for exclusive use of USAT’s comprehensive ePort Connect® service and are all three years in duration. The new exclusive customers, City Vending Company, Fresh Brew Group and American Food and Vending Corporation, are all regional vending companies. As of March 31, 2013, USAT had over 4,500 customers and 196,000 connections to its ePort Connect service, increases of 59% and 32%, respectively, since the same period in the prior year.

Vasco Launches Credit Card Authentication Device

VASCO Data Security International software security announced a new addition to its DIGIPASS e-signature portfolio with DIGIPASS 280. Offering strong authentication in a convenient slim design, DIGIPASS 280 provides a comprehensive transaction data signing and authentication solution that banks and other organizations can use to effectively combat Internet fraud by replacing static or paper-based password systems with dynamic one-time passwords (OTPs) and e-signatures that are calculated with DIGIPASS algorithms. DIGIPASS 280 supports up to four different native time-based applications: two OTP and two e-signature applications. The OTP-applications generate strong dynamic passwords with a limited validity. With a push on the button, DIGIPASS 280 displays an OTP each time a user wants to remotely log on to an application, website or network. The two applications each use their own cryptographic secret to calculate the OTPs which greatly enhances security.

Experian Intros No Claims Discount DB

Experian launched its No Claims Discount (NCD) database, a centralised database of records associated with any individual’s ‘no claims discounts’. Now the insurance industry will be able to confidently, quickly and easily validate the ‘no claims’ history declared by individuals during the quotation, underwriting and claims processes. Brokers and insurers can use the NCD database from Experian to replace the expensive and labour-intensive manual process to collect data that they currently use, minimising risk and providing a better service for customers. Experian’s NCD database will ensure the correct risk assessment is completed on individuals and the right rate is assigned, increasing customer confidence in the accuracy of data used by insurers. It will eliminate the need for customers to submit written proof of their no claims history, reducing policy delays and improving their overall application experience.

SoftBank Mobile Picks Gemalto for mNFC ecosystem

Gemalto digital security implemented the commercial launch of mobile NFC services for SoftBank Mobile.
