WorldRemit is introducing the ability to send money to Thailand. The upgrade to WorldRemit’s Thai service enables workers living overseas to send money back home without the need for an additional foreign exchange transaction at the receiving bank.International remittances are an important contributor to the economy of Thailand, with an estimated US $5.5 billion being received in 2013, according to the World Bank. Diners Club Announces Latest Merchant Acquiring Partnership

Diners Club International, part of the Discover Global Network, and Bangkok Bank are set to implement their merchant acquiring partnership. Under the agreement, merchants using the Bangkok Bank terminal network will be able to accept Diners Club International, Discover, BC Global, DinaCard and RuPay cards, which are all part of the Discover Global Network. The Discover Global Network is the third-largest payments network in the world, operating in more than 185 countries. Diners Club International became the first multi-purpose charge card in the world, launching a financial revolution in how consumers and companies pay for products and services.

Swiff Launces Mobile Payment for McDonald’s

Swiff launched a new mobile payment service with AEON Thana Sinsap (Thailand) Public Company Ltd. and McDonald’s for McDelivery 1711. With this new mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) solution, McDelivery 1711 allows their customers to pay by credit card using mobile devices from wherever they make their orders. This is the first time in Thailand for a global quick service restaurant chain to use mPOS when they deliver the orders to customers’ doorstep.

Fiserv, Inc. announced that Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited has upgraded its mobile banking, alerting and payments platform to Mobiliti Edge from Fiserv. With Mobiliti Edge, Bangkok Bank customers will be able to securely access their financial information and conduct transactions via their choice of mobile web and downloadable applications for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and iPad. As part of the upgrade, the bank has enabled secure on-device activation, allowing users to complete most of their activation process for mobile banking directly from their smartphones, ensuring the service is accessible to the bank’s broad customer base and not only to online banking users. Customers can check balances, review transaction history, locate ATMs and branches, transfer funds, pay people and bills, and top up prepaid accounts in both English and Thai languages.
