TransCard prepaid products to financial institutions announced its new Traveler Prepaid Card. This card protects customers’ bank balances and credit lines if the card is ever lost or stolen. Financial institution customers can move money for their travels onto the Traveler Prepaid Card and leave their debit card and credit cards at home. With mobile account access for both Apple and Android users, tracking spending and balances on the Traveler Prepaid Card while on the road is easy and convenient.

Alaric & Mistral Partner on mMoney Solution

Alaric fraud prevention and payments solutions partnered Mistral Mobile to enable financial institutions around the world to offer customers full financial services through mobile phones. This will use Mistral Mobile’s Money Mobility Suite for the interface with the mobile devices, supported by Alaric’s Authentic solution for transaction processing. The service can be used by any customer with any mobile phone. The partnership lets users update and add new features completely remotely and automatically, with no need for customer involvement in application updates. The system can connect to banks, card schemes and other payment schemes, and has the flexibility to be integrated into the wider banking system. The mobile solution will also integrate with Alaric’s Fractals fraud prevention technology, giving financial institutions the ability to detect and prevent merchant or micro-agent fraud.

Bluefin Payment Launches Payment Gateway, Management

Bluefin Payment launched its “PayConex Payment Gateway” and “CardConex Management System.” The solutions with integrated software vendors (ISVs) provides services to SaaS providers and major merchants in the insurance, health/fitness, faith-based, medical, legal, non-profit and transportation industries. The company has continuously provided debit, credit and ACH solutions for the last several years, but decided to brand their payment gateway as more payment and security features were added over the past 10 months. In 2Q/13, merchants will also have the ability to take mobile payments through Bluefin’s custom interface. The “CardConex” platform offers a Partner Portal and dashboard for resellers managing and submitting merchant applications through “PayConex.”

Bank of America Launches New Credit Card Rewards

Bank of America introduced its BankAmericard Better Balance Rewards card. Rewarding customers with up to $100 annually for responsibly managing their monthly credit card payments, the new card allows customers to receive $25 for every quarter that they pay any amount more than the monthly minimum due and make payments on time. Also, cardholders receive $25 quarterly cash rewards when payments are made on time and for more than the minimum amount due, $5 bonus per quarter for having another qualifying Bank of America account and can choose to have their cash rewards automatically credited to their card balance or deposited into a Bank of America checking or savings account or Merrill Lynch Cash Management Account with no annual fee.

Chase Platinum Business Focuses on Small Business

Chase launched a national advertising campaign to introduce Chase Platinum Business, offering dedicated customer support with free and discounted fees. Customers receive concierge-level service with an assigned banker and dedicated phone support. The advertising campaign features three Chase Platinum Business customers who tell their stories in extended-length videos and print and radio ads. This follows Mission Main Street, a 2012 effort that highlighted how Chase’s financing helped six entrepreneurs expand their businesses. BitPay Expands Investment Round

BitPay bitcoin payment processing expanded its Seed round of funding by adding more angel investors, including Ben Davenport, Trace Mayer, and A-GRade Investments.
