Western Union global payments and EZCORP instant cash solutions forged partnership agreements under which Western Union Money Transfer, money order and consumer bill payment services will be available at over 900 EZCORP-operated store locations in the United States. Western Union money transfer services also will be available at more than 300 EZCORP-operated store locations in Mexico and Canada. EZCORP operates more than 900 locations in the United States under various brand names, including EZPAWN, Value Pawn & Jewelry and EZMONEY.
DataCash jointly developed with MasterCard and EPoS provider Zonal and Coherent+ portable ePOS terminals. With payments managed using MasterCard integration and the DataCash Payment Gateway, the terminals will reduce waiting times in pubs, bars and restaurants. Customers can make payments very simply and quickly by conveniently tapping their card on a terminal, without the overhead of entering a PIN. Convenience is at the heart of this solution as all employed staff will carry these portable terminals on a belt clip meaning that customers have the option of paying for their services on the go from their desired location. The light weight, water resistant terminals, with robust wireless communication to the base station, will be carried by every member of the bar staff who interacts with customers, removing the need for bar staff to wait for a terminal to becoome available.
Primax debit and credit card issuing and merchant acquiring programs, products and services partnered with Four Points Federal Credit Union (FPFCU) to implement and provide support services for the credit union’s credit card issuing program. Elavon global payments solutions provider is set to launch the Ingenico “Telium2” series countertop and wireless terminals as part of a strategic move to scale its global relationship with Ingenico. Elavon has successfully completed the Class A certification of Ingenico’s Telium2 iCT2xx and iWL2xx series terminals and software application. The certification covers the iCT220 and iCT250 countertop terminals. The iCT220 and iCT250 terminals will be available to Elavon’s customers nationwide as stand-alone countertop solutions or in conjunction with Ingenico’s external iPP220 & iPP320 PIN Pads. The iCT2xx and iWL2xx terminals will provide Elavon’s customers everywhere with a solid foundation to offer payment and value-added services to their customers on a platform that supports EMV, contactless, and NFC technologies. HP launched the “PowerCARD” payment management software, offering customers a card payment solution across Europe, Middle East and Africa. This solution complements HP’s existing card services utilities which are already available to clients in the Americas and in the Asia-Pacific regions. The HP “AllianceONE” partner payment software company currently provides card, ATM and POS management systems for over 320 financial institutions in 70 countries and is through which HP and HPS will jointly offer outsourced payments solutions based on PowerCARD software in the Europe, Middle East and African (EMEA) region. HP offers a broad solution set for both in-house processing and outsourced services and works with clients globally to define the appropriate strategic fit for their cards and payments business.

The Jack Henry & Associates Jack Henry Banking division announced it has moved all operations from its Lyndhurst, NJ item processing (IP) center to one of the company’s alternate processing facilities in Oklahoma City, OK. The Lyndhurst center was rendered inoperable due to widespread flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy. Over 100 of Jack Henry & Associates’ 1,300 core bank clients were impacted by the damaged IP center.
Merchant Link payment gateway and data security solutions signed a multi-year contract with Phoenix Managed Networks, under which Merchant Link will offer its customers Phoenix’s PCI DSS firewall service coupled with breach insurance. This service is a cloud-based management service with an on-site security appliance that locks down the point-of-sale (POS) system and segregates payment traffic from all other corporate IT data. The router further simplifies compliance with PCI standards and addresses the PCI DSS requirement to install and maintain a firewall configuration. The service simplifies the process by pre-populating the PCI DSS Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) document and includes $100,000 of breach insurance in the event of a security breach. It also guards the POS network from internal and external threats 24x7x365.

North American Bancard has joined the PCI Security Standards Council as a new Participating Organization. North American Bancard (NAB) will work with the Council to achieve and improve payment data security worldwide through the ongoing development of the PCI Security Standards, including the PCI DSS, PIN Transaction Security (PTS) requirements and the PA-DSS. With this, NAB adds its voice to the standards setting process and will receive previews of drafts of standards and supporting materials in order to provide feedback to shape their final versions, as well as engage a growing community of more than 600 organizations united to improve payment security.
