Central Bank Upgrades to NCR SelfServ ATMs with SDM

NCR Corporation announced that Central Bank, which services Provo, Utah and the surrounding communities, will deploy 10 NCR SelfServ ATMs to revamp its ATM network. The new ATMs include NCR’s Scalable Deposit Module (SDM) technology, and replace older machines including some from a competing manufacturer. NCR’s Scalable Deposit Module (SDM) is the only ATM technology on the market that allows consumers to deposit both cash and checks simultaneously in any orientation through a single slot. The NCR SelfServ ATMs deployed by Central Bank are designed to meet customer demands for fast, convenient service. NCR’s SDM is the only technology on the market that allows consumers to deposit both cash and checks simultaneously, in any orientation, through a single slot. SDM enables consumers to make a deposit at twice the speed of using a regular ATM.

Elavon Adds EMV Data Protection

Elavon payment solutions provider announced its “SAFE-T” Suite security solution now includes support for EMV, providing businesses that process and store cardholder data with greater security for payment transactions. The “SAFE-T” Suite helps businesses protect card data at every step of the transaction process: when it is in use, in transit, or at rest. EMV terminals read advanced algorithms contained on Chip cards to authenticate that the card is not a counterfeit. Point-to-point encryption secures the data from the time a card is presented and as it travels across the payment processing networks. Tokenization replaces actual card data with a unique identifier to protect data at rest in a merchant’s environment, while still allowing it to be used for subsequent business purposes. For any business that processes card-on-file transactions, has a loyalty program, or needs data for customer analytics, SAFE-T Suite offers added peace of mind. It allows for these processes to continue without the risk of exposing actual card data, while making the tokenized data available for future use.

Novo Dia Group, a software development firm specialized in the health and human services industry, announced that 325 iPod touch devices with the Mobile Market+ point-of sale (POS) application have been deployed at 26 farmers markets in Michigan, enabling participating vendors to accept several types of benefits cards, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Electronic Benefits Transfer Cash Value Benefits (WIC EBT CVB), Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), and Summer EBT for Children (SEBTC). Additionally, vendors can process debit and credit card transactions with the same device, providing even more sales opportunities with no extra hardware investment. Isle of Wight Attendees to Enjoy MasterCard PayPass wristbands

Isle of Wight Festival goers will will experience the benefits of automatically topping up their contactless prepaid MasterCard PayPass wristbands and also using them to access the event. Now, 13,000 ticket holders will receive PayPass wristbands before they come to the event, making entry to the site and grabbing a bite to eat even easier, using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Data is transferred safely and securely from the tag attached to the wristband to the contactless readers installed in many locations around the festival. For purchases of GBP20 or less, all users have to do is simply tap their PayPass wristband on the reader, removing the need to dip a card, enter a PIN or provide a signature.

AmEX Launches Digital Service to Streamlines Corporate Payment

American Express has launched its “PAYVE” digital payment service, allowing large and mid-size companies to centralize the processing of multiple payment methods through a single, easy-to-use electronic platform. Payment methods include check, ACH, international wire and American Express’s web-based payment solution, Buyer Initiated Payments (BIP) allowing companies to improve working capital and cash flow management while streamlining accounts payable (AP) processes. The “PAYVE” solution allows companies to consolidate payments through a single platform to increase control, efficiency and transparency of their payables and accelerate their migration from paper check to electronic payments to reduce costs and make their accounts payable process more efficient. Clients simply send a file to American Express that can include instructions for multiple vendors and various payment methods. American Express will then direct payments to each supplier using the designated method – check, ACH, international wire or BIP.
