Paul Friedel has been named vice president of Global Advanced Technology for Diebold, Incorporated. In this newly created role, Friedel will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and selecting trends of future technologies that fit into the Diebold corporate long-range strategy to ensure continued technological leadership in the industry.
Friedel comes to Diebold from Philips where he was employed for 22 years and most recently served as general manager of Philips Research France, and senior vice president of Philips Research International.
“Paul brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Diebold. His vast expertise will aid Diebold’s technical organizations in their efforts of continuing expansion and growth in their world-class status,” said Danny O’Brien, senior vice president of Global Product Management and Engineering.
Friedel graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in Paris and holds a doctorate in physics from Universite Paris XI. He was a Post’Doc’ in Bell Labs, NJ. He is originally from Paris, and has lived in New Jersey and the Netherlands. He will be located in Paris.
