Australia-based Cards etc has launched the third release of its smart card management software, Arterium. Release 3.0 of Arterium will provide significant enhancements for card issuers and service bureaus, and has a state-of-the-art Application Programming Interface and Software Development Kit, enabling third parties to develop Arterium support for their own applications.
President and CEO of Cards etc, Craig Dower believes the latest version of Arterium is one of the fastest, stable and most progressive smart card management systems available today.
“The performance improvements in the latest release of Arterium are significant.
“Arterium 3.0 is at least four times faster than the previous version, which was already very productive, and will help organizations issue cards more efficiently over multiple locations.
“We believe Arterium 3.0 is one of the fastest data preparation systems currently in operation,” he said.
The introduction of new software components in Arterium 3.0, provide organizations with precise management and control at every stage in the automated card production process. The software development kit provides a rapid development environment for developers to build and test code using the Application Programming Interface.
“The software development kit will, for the first time, enable our customers and partners to create their own Arterium Business Modules, giving them great flexibility and a platform for innovation, whilst using their own resources and infrastructure,” said Mr Dower.
“They get what they need, when they need it, and they build and own their intellectual property,” he added.
Arterium 3.0 includes Arterium Key Manager, which provides all the key management capabilities necessary to support Arterium data preparation and personalization processes, making it easy to create, generate, import and migrate keys securely.
Mr Dower said the support for post-issuance within Arterium 3.0 is one of the most advanced available.
“Arterium now helps card issuers rapidly update their web presence to support post-issuance functionality including adding, updating and removing products from cards.
“It’s built-in failure recovery functionality can complete failed updates even if an end-user pulls out a card or the Internet connection is lost during a previous attempt,” he said.
Arterium is currently in use by several major services bureaus throughout the world, including First Data Corporation in the USA, Acer Corporation in Taiwan, and ECard in Australia. Plans are currently underway to migrate these production platforms to the Arterium Release 3.0 over the next several months.
Arterium manages the entire lifetime of the card from launch through to expiry and enables partners who share space on the chip to retrieve and update cardholders, cards and products. It provides a comprehensive suite of support for both Visa Open Platform and MULTOS operating environments, plus multiple loyalty, security, EMV and convenience solutions.
Cards etc will demonstrate Arterium 3.0 at Cartes, in Paris on November 5-7. Cards etc will be on the Aconite Technologies stand, No. 3A067.
