The Cure Card, a consumer loyalty card created to help raise funds for breast cancer research, will hold its official launch on Wednesday, October 30, 2002, 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Casual Corner-Petite Sophisticate-August Max Woman, 150 East 42nd Street, New York, NY. Consumers will be able to purchase The Cure Card for $25 of which 50% is automatically donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Cure Card holders receive discounts on purchases each time they use their Card at participating retailers through October 31, 2003. In turn, the retailer will make a donation back to BCRF each time The Cure Card is shown at time of purchase. The Cure Cards will be sold by participating retailers annually and throughout the year beginning each October during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Cure Card is proud to have the following national retail partners for its official 2002-2003 launch: Adrienne Vittadini, Carolee, Casual Corner, Petite Sophisticate, August Max Woman and Casual Corner Annex. The Cure Card will be available in over 1,000 stores nationwide.
BCRF, founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, is the official beneficiary of The Cure Card. BCRF is the first and largest not-for-profit organization dedicated solely to funding innovative research on the causes of and treatments for breast cancer and has raised $40 million to date for research and awareness programs. BCRF fills a niche in the arena by funding new hypothesis that can later vie for larger, long-term government grants. This October, the Foundation awarded $11.2 million to 63 scientists at 41 institutions. For more information visit .
