Yaga, Inc., the leading provider of advanced payment services for digital content and other online businesses has appointed Michael A. Beindorff to the board of directors.
Mr. Beindorff, an acknowledged leader and innovator in consumer payments, marketing and ecommerce, is currently a principal of the GreenTree Marketing Group, a marketing and branding consultancy based in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to founding GreenTree marketing, he spent three years at PlanetRx.com as president and later as CEO & chairman.
He joined PlanetRx after five years at Visa, most recently as CEO of eVisa, the Internet and e-commerce arm of Visa, and more than four years as executive vice president of marketing and product management for Visa. During his tenure at Visa, Beindorff led the marketing function including advertising and marketing campaigns ranked among the most recognized and successful in consumer goods. He was also responsible for leading Visa’s product strategy renaissance moving the company from its position as the number one global credit card marketer to the premiere multi-faceted card marketer with the development and rollout of the Visa Platinum card, Visa Signature card and the Visa Check card, which today dominates the fast growing debit category.
Prior to joining Visa, Beindorff spent 15 years with the Coca-Cola Company where he held a variety of marketing and management roles including vice president, director of marketing Coca-Cola USA and vice president of advertising. Beindorff was named U.S. Advertising Executive of the Year in 1989 and, under his direction from National rollout in 1984 to 1991, diet Coke was named “Brand of the Decade” for the 1980’s by Advertising Age. Each year from 1996-1999 Beindorff was named one of the Power 50 Marketers in America by Advertising Age.
