USA Technologies announced that another 13 universities, colleges, and school districts had purchased its EnergyMiser solutions to reduce energy consumption on campus.
These latest schools brings the total number to more than 180 colleges and universities in 32 States, and more than 1,330 school districts in 31 States to “go green” and install VendingMisers on campus vending machines. They include the University of Vermont, Ferris State University, the Southern NE School of Law, University of Miami Hospital, SUNY Brockport, St. Lawrence University, and the school districts of San Jose, Fresno, Mukwonago Area, Belding Area, Essex Town, Bullock Creek and Dallas County.
“Ever since the EPA introduced new energy consumption standards for vending machines, we have seen an increase in interest and orders of our EnergyMiser offerings,” said George R. Jensen, Jr., Chairman and CEO, USA Technologies. “Educational facilities in particular are drawn to our VendingMiser which is capable of reducing energy consumption and emission of greenhouse gases from vending machines by an average of 46 percent. That represents a savings of about $150 a vending machine annually.”
“Not only are students environmentally conscious and respect the fact that their schools are implementing measures to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse emissions, but by installing VendingMisers on their vending machines they are saving a substantial amount of money that can be spent in other areas. For example, on books or teacher salaries,” said Jensen. “We’re delighted with the return on investment the schools are experiencing. The VendingMisers will quickly pay for themselves in energy saved.”
USA Technologies reported that EnergyMiser products had also been installed in various commercial machines in nearly 60 State and Federal buildings throughout the US. Military installations in the US and overseas were also equipping their vending machines base-wide with VendingMisers. “We’re delighted to report that more than 20 energy utilities now offer turnkey and rebate programs to vending machine operators who install VendingMisers,” said Mr. Jensen. “The rebates range from $30 per unit, all the way up to the full cost of the VendingMiser, including installation. That makes it a pretty attractive offering, and we’re delighted to report significantly higher demand, especially this June quarter,” he said.
To help meet the demand, USA Technologies has signed 19 major resellers, nationwide.
