Comdata Network, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ceridian Corporation announced the appointment of Bob Skiba to the position of executive vice president and general manager of the company’s Stored Value Systems, Inc. (SVS) subsidiary. The former vice president of assurance services and continuity planning for Gap, Inc., the San Francisco-based retailer for Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy apparel brands, will lead Comdata’s gift card and payroll card business.
“Bob was one of the early retail pioneers for the SVS electronic gift card, working closely with us to introduce the Gap gift card to shoppers in 1997,” said Comdata President Gary Krow. “He knows the product extremely well and has always demonstrated a passion and vision for future gift and pay card applications. Our customers will benefit from his perspective and past experience as a retail veteran.”
Prior to joining Gap in 1997, Skiba held numerous senior financial management positions, including vice president of financial operations at Home Depot; controller of the Mall Store Group for Sears, Roebuck & Co.; operations management and store planning at Barney’s New York; and corporate director of financial planning & analysis at Saks Fifth Avenue.
“There is a huge dynamic related to gift cards within the retail community now,” said Skiba. “I look forward to continuing SVS’ reputation as the provider of choice and extending the real value-added properties of the gift card product to incorporate loyalty and additional incentives to drive more customer traffic into our clients’ locations.”
