Lipman Electronic Engineering Ltd. announced the launch of the NURIT 8100, its newest multifunction countertop POS terminal.
The NURIT 8100, unveiled recently at the 2004 Electronic Transactions Association Annual Meeting and Expo, is designed to address the POS market that requires high-level features and functionality by enhancing and expanding upon the key technological capabilities of previous NURIT terminals. The NURIT 8100 provides users with a variety of value-added features and options, including a large graphic display with ATM-style control buttons for simple operation and browsing. Connectivity methods such as Ethernet LAN, Cellular GSM / GPRS and fast landline modem, with Internet and web protocol support, make it ideal for varied communication environments. Together, these features allow NURIT users to benefit from vertical market applications in addition to the traditional payment functionality that is the foundation of the POS terminal, further increasing the value of the terminal for retailers.
In addition, the NURIT 8100 terminal provides a superior level of security, meeting or exceeding all widely recognized standards including regional standards, VisaPED and MasterCard requirements. Featuring a circuit to instantly erase secret encryption keys to protect against fraudulent intrusion, the tamper-resistant, tamper-evident and tamper-responsive NURIT 8100 is an ideal solution for markets with even the highest security standards. The terminal also includes a fully detachable thermal printer, enabling quick, easy repair and replacement without the risk of compromising the terminal’s security.
Isaac Angel, President and CEO of Lipman said, “We are extremely pleased with the recent introduction of the NURIT 8100 secure multifunction solution at the 2004 ETA Annual Meeting and Expo, as we received a great deal of interest and positive feedback from a large number of retailers, ISOs and others in attendance. The NURIT 8100’s combination of ease of use, advanced connectivity, high performance and high security make it particularly suitable for the United States market and other markets where merchants require a large number of varied applications and where Internet communications for payments is growing. We have anticipated the increased demands of these high-end users and developed the NURIT 8100 terminal for both secure payment and value-added solutions. We are excited by the opportunities and expanded markets that this new solution will create for Lipman.”
