Scanecotech AS presents a new and revolutionary Biometric card.
The Scancotech biometric card is the product of the Danish innovation
company Scanecotech AS.
It raises the level of security for all card based applications to a new
level, incorporating biometric recognition.
The Card resembles a regular credit card, and conforms to all
specifications regulating the physical dimensions and properties of
normal cards, be it credit cards, or cards for security applications.
The card has a fingerprint scanner imbedded.
When the card is issued, the user swipes first one finger,
then another, across the scanner on the card.
Which fingers to use are selected by the user.
The recognition of two fingers is to ensure that the user can use the
card, even if an injury is sustained to one finger. (e.g. cuts or minor
The card then locks the fingerprints in its integrated memory, and it
cannot be changed.
The scanner will now only recognize the fingerprint of the legal user.
When the user swipes his finger across the imbedded fingerprint scanner,
the card is activated. This means that the chip and/or magnetic stripe

The card remains activated for a predetermined time, e.g. 3 minutes, or
until it has transferred data; it then reverts to the inactive mode.
Only when the card is activated, the data imbedded can be accessed.
Unless activated, the card is just a piece of plastic.
Depending on issuer specifications, more than one set of card data may
be contained on the card. Subsequent to activation, the user selects
which card data he wants to transmit, thus eliminating the need for
carrying more than one card. You can for example have your credit card,
company access etc on just the one card.
Pin codes are superfluous, unless specifically required by the card
issuer: the biometric security ensures that the card is used only by the
person to whom it was issued.
Arguments have been raised that this technology may lead to more macabre
robberies where the robber cuts off a finger from the victim.
This is a concern that we have addressed in the design phase; depending
on user specification, the card may incorporate a “remain active”
feature, which allows you, if robbed, to lock the card in active mode.

The card solves a number of problems that have been associated with
cards that employ biometric security.
-The card is entirely autonomous. The recognition of the fingerprint is
performed on the card itself. No external database is accessed, or has
the fingerprint stored.
