Sagem Orga and Sheltering, ICT Security Solutions Italian company, have
signed a distribution agreement beginning in January 2007 to deliver
Sagem Orga’s banking smart cards solutions to the Italian market.*
The alliance will focus on Italian Banks and European large scale
issuers with operations in Italy.
Sagem Orga and Sheltering have formed an alliance to deliver a combined
European service infrastructure for EMV banking cards to service the
banking market in Italy. As a specialist in smart card technology for
the German, French and European debit and credit markets, Sagem Orga
strengthening its position in Europe for the migration into a Single
European Payment Area. In September of last year, Italy – with
PagoBancomat and Bancomat – has joined the Euro Alliance of Payment
Schemes to become pan-European.
With Italian banks buying assets in Germany, France and Eastern Europe,
the alliance will provide best-of-breed service and support to Italian
financial institutions by offering a complete EMV product and service
portfolio in a broader European service delivery model:
– Contact EMV cards adhering to the latest CPS standards
– Online authentication solutions (CAP)
– Contactless smart cards (Paypass, Visa contactless)
– Comprehensive personalization package
– Consultancy, training and professional project management
underpinning the technology
