AirPlus International, the leading global provider of business travel payment solutions announced its 2006 results. AirPlus has further strengthened its position in the global business travel market and can look back at another successful year: Total settlement volume rose by 15% to USD 18.6 billion in 2006. The main drivers for this massive increase were the international markets outside of AirPlus’ traditional German home market that contributed to the expansion with 51% growth. The company’s 2006 operating profits were USD 12 million before tax.
AirPlus rounded out 2006 with a total of 640 employees and more than 32,000 corporate clients. In a bold move, the company made a commitment to be the world’s preferred provider of integrated payment and analysis solutions for business travel by 2012.
“We made substantial gains in all markets and sectors in the last year, putting us in an ideal position for further growth, as well as getting us closer to achieving our objective of becoming the preferred global provider of solutions for business travel payment and analysis,” said Richard Crum, President, AirPlus International Inc. “The strong demand for our payment solutions expertise demonstrates that product quality, customer service and innovation is the correct recipe for our continued expansion,” Crum explained.
