Clear2Pay, the international
technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial
institutions announces the opening of Clear2Pay China at the opening of
the Payment China 2007 Conference in Beijing. Based in Shenzhen,
Clear2Pay China will be responsible for sales, professional services,
local development and support in the Chinese region.
Clear2Pay China is the result of a joint venture between Clear2Pay and
Data House and led by Frank Wu. With a strong presence in the Asia
Pacific region through its offices in Australia and Singapore, Clear2Pay
has been in close touch with the developing Chinese payments market over
an extended period. “Because of the numerous cross-border payments
projects we have executed in the Asia Pacific region, we are very well
positioned to connect local, as well as foreign banks to the Chinese
national payment infrastructure (CNAPS)”, states Warren Gardiner,
General Manager Asia Pacific for Clear2Pay.
“China is, not unlike Europe and the US, going through a series of
payment reforms, which means the streamlining of a wide range of
national schemes into fewer more centralised clearing systems”,
continues Michel Akkermans, Chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay. “With our
experience in Europe we truly understand the technological challenges
that transformation brings, both for banks as well as their clients.
Expanding our global presence means following our clients and the
market. The industry events in China will involve the further expansion
of global systems, as a niche provider in the payments technology space
it goes without saying that we must and want to be at the heart of these
developments.”
The Clear2Pay China office is home to over 35 staff with a sales team
headed up by Chan Mun Kiat and Frank Wu. Internationally Clear2Pay
operates out of 11 offices and employs over 260 staff in total.
Note: Clear2Pay’s Chan Mun Kiat will present at Payment China 2007 on
Friday, 18 May in Track A at 11.30 hrs. on: “CNAPS – the case for a
corporate payment hub”.
