RHB Bank Bhd is rolling out a campaign to increase its credit card
issuance by more than 100,000 to reach 800,000 cardholders by year-end.
The bank is also targeting 20 per cent growth in credit card issuance
and wealth management over the next three years, said its head of
consumer banking, Michael Lor.
“In order to boost the targeted credit card issuance, we are launching a
contest to attract new customers and give existing credit cardholders a
chance to win travel packages, in line with the government’s Visit
Malaysia Year 2007 campaign,” he told reporters after the launch of the
RHB Getaway Contest.
Lor said a total of 15 prizes worth RM200,000 have been lined up under
the bank’s latest spend and win contest.
The three grand prizes are trips to Los Angeles in the US, Venice in
Italy and Paris in France.
The next 12 prizes comprise holidays in various Malaysian tourist spots.
Lor said RHB Bank is now commanding 7.6 per cent of the credit card
market while its non-performing loan (NPL) portion declined to 4 per
cent last year.
He said the credit card segment contributed about 10 per cent of the
revenue in the consumer banking division and is expected to grow
aggressively over the next three to four years.
Lor said the amount of card receivables for last year was RM1.33 billion
while spending amounted to RM2 billion. – Bernama
