Hypercom Corporation announced the appointment of David M. Millener to the newly created position of Managing Director, Hypercom UK and Ireland. Mr. Millener is responsible for driving sales, service and support in both countries. He reports to Kazem Aminaee, President and Managing Director, Southern Europe Region, Hypercom EMEA. His appointment is effective immediately.
Mr. Millener joins Hypercom from First Data Global Leasing, a division of First Data Corporation, where he was Vice President, European Leasing. He has previously held positions with GE Capital European Equipment Finance and National Westminster Bank.
“David brings to Hypercom extensive industry experience and a keen understanding of the retailers and financial institutions in this region,” said Mr. Aminaee. “His skill and market knowledge will help us extend our footprint in these two very important countries.”
About David Millener
Mr. Millener has almost 30 years of experience in the electronic commerce, payment and retail banking industries. As First Data Vice President, European Leasing, from 2006 to 2008, Mr. Millener directed all aspects of the company’s specialized payment terminal management service to major financial institutions. In less than two years, he grew the company from start-up to a business that activated more than 20,000 new lease contracts and generated revenues of $30 million.
Prior to that, Mr. Millener spent eight years in leadership positions at GE Capital European Equipment Finance, one of Europe’s leading providers of customer lease financing solutions, holding numerous senior business development roles from 1998 to 2006. His many accomplishments include developing strategic pan-European and global relationships in the IT sector, implementing a pan-European program relationship with one of the fastest-growing IT hardware providers, negotiating and implementing a major European customer financing program, and overseeing new product and market strategies.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Millener worked for 17 years at National Westminster Bank in a number of positions including Senior Manager responsible for the bank’s regional small business strategy and Senior Manager in charge of launching the bank’s premium personal customer delivery strategy that grew under his leadership to more than 500 teams across the bank’s UK Branch/Business Center network.
Mr. Millener is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and was educated at St. Brendan’s College in Bristol, England.
