eEye’s REM Security Management Console Supporting DOD CAC Smart Card
IT security provider eEye Digital Security announced its “REM
Security Management Console” now supports the U.S. Department of Defense
CAC smart card for two-factor authentication, a compliance requirement
for access to critical federal government computer systems.
The CAC enables encrypting and cryptographically signing email,
facilitating the use of PKI authentication tools, and establishes an
authoritative process for the use of identity credentials.
The REM Security Management Console is a key component of Retina.GOV,
providing unified vulnerability management and compliance. Designed for
government departments and agencies, the REM Security Management Console
provides a single point of visibility into an organization’s security
posture. By allocating resources based upon threat level and business
function, organizations can focus on the most critical vulnerabilities
and attacks first. In addition to REM, eEye’s Retina Web Security Scanner
will also support the CAC smart card by the end of Q2.
