TeleCash GmbH & Co. KG, a First Data company, and one of the leading network service providers (NSP) for the processing of card payments in Germany, and GroBbecker & Nordt BUrotechnik Handels GmbH, an IT services provider to surgeries and dental practices, have announced the successful delivery and installation of more than 500 electronic health insurance card (eGK) readers at dental practices in the North Rhine region during the last quarter of 2009.
TeleCash chose Hypercom terminals to equip the practices. GroBbecker & Nordt, which supports around 1,000 dental surgeons running CompuDent surgery software in Cologne, Bonn and DUsseldorf, installed the readers and integrated them into practices’ legacy administration systems.
“In GroBbecker & Nordt we found a great collaborator with excellent customer networks in the dental sector,” said Klaus Schoepflin, managing director of TeleCash. “We will continue to work together to make the switchover to electronic health insurance cards as simple and convenient as possible for dentists.”
“TeleCash’s thorough understanding of customer needs and their competence as a provider played a key role in this successful implementation,” said Marcus GroBbecker, chief executive of the Cologne-based GroBbecker & Nordt. “We have built an excellent relationship with TeleCash and look forward to working together on other projects in the future.”
The rollout of the Electronic Health Card (eGK) in Germany is one of the biggest technology projects ever undertaken in the German healthcare sector and will affect thousands of doctors, dentists, pharmacists and healthcare clinics, which will have to invest in new card acceptance devices. TeleCash has equipped doctors, pharmacists and hospitals with card payment terminals since 1990 and, supported by a nationwide infrastructure, offers a range of solutions specifically designed to meet the needs of customers impacted by the launch of the eGK.
TeleCash can assist with the installation of equipment onsite and help to ensure a reliable and smooth running service for surgeries and clinics through its comprehensive replacement warranties. This consultative and service driven approach is particularly important for customers new to the healthcare system.
