ScanSource, the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, is now offering merchant services and key injection to its reseller partners, with the creation of ScanSource Payment Solutions Suite. This program, which includes ScanSource Merchant Services and ScanSource Key Injection Services offerings, enables resellers to offer a more complete POS solution to their end-user customers, while also creating potential new revenue streams.
ScanSource has partnered with First Data Corporation, a global leader in electronic commerce and payment processing, to provide a complete portfolio of payment systems and services to resellers so that they can meet the specific payment processing needs of their end-user customers. By offering electronic payment solutions to their end-user customers, ScanSource resellers are provided a new reoccurring revenue stream since merchant services, batching and processing were previously handled by third-party companies that received all associated fees.
In addition, ScanSource is now offering key injection services, enabling resellers to more easily load and manage POS encryption keys. Due to the extremely confidential nature of this process, ScanSource is building a secure facility in its Custom Configuration Center in Southaven, MS, where this service would be fulfilled. In the past, when resellers purchased payment terminals, they would have to send the terminal to the manufacturer or another third-party for injection. By offering this service, ScanSource is able to take costs and time out of the process, enabling the reseller to add an enhanced level of service and efficiency to the end-user customer. ScanSource has partnered with Mustang Microsystems to assist with this service. Mustang provides technical services and consulting for retailers, POS vendors, and system integrators.
