Cardtronics, the world’s largest retail ATM owner, announced the selection of EDC ATM alum Jeffery Keith as the new executive vice president of Cardtronics’ Global Operations Group. In a related development, outgoing Cardtronics executive vice president of Global Operations, Jim Bettinger, has announced his planned retirement. Staying on at Cardtronics through the end of 2011, Mr. Bettinger will work in concert with Mr. Keith to orchestrate a smooth leadership transition for the Operations Group.

Over the course of the next decade, he played an integral role in helping Cardtronics expand its owned/operated ATM fleet from 5,000 to more than 40,000 cash machines, all the while building our reputation for operational and ATM up-time excellence. We wish him all the best in his retirement,” said Mike Clinard, president, Global Services, Cardtronics. “It’s with complete confidence Cardtronics passes the ‘operations leadership baton’ to Jeffery Keith, who brings more than 20 years of ATM industry experience that will serve us well as Cardtronics continues to grow.”
As the company’s new executive vice president of Global Operations, Jeffery Keith has direct responsibility for ensuring Cardtronics’ U.S.-located ATMs dispense cash 24-hours per day, as well as operational oversight for international markets. In conjunction with that assignment, Mr. Keith oversees general management of ATM performance monitoring; cash management; technical support; field service; customer call center; inventory; purchasing; and global vendor relations.

Mr. Keith became affiliated with Cardtronics as part of the company’s 2011 acquisition of EDC ATM. Originally joining EDC in 2007, Keith served as executive vice president of Business Development. Prior to EDC, Mr. Keith helped establish BVIG Financial in 2002, where he served as president until EDC ATM acquired the company in 2007. BVIG provided alternative financial services to un-banked and under-banked consumers.
As part of Mr. Keith’s 20-year career in the ATM industry, he has also served as vice president of Business Development at Momentum Cash Systems, as well as founder, director and vice president of Core Data Resources, an ATM processing company.
Currently co-chairing the ATM Industry Association’s (ATMIA) “Independent ATM Deployer Committee,” Mr. Keith previously attended Texas Tech University and served in the United States Marine Corps.
