Paynet Systems, Inc., a credit card processing solutions company, has announced the winner of its $1,500 Back to School Spirit contest. Richard Fahey, whose child attends West Forsyth High School in Cumming, Ga., submitted the winning entry. A portion of the prize will be awarded to the West Forsyth Equestrian Club. The photo depicted a group of equestrian club members celebrating their back to school spirit.
The six-week contest ended on Friday, September 30, 2011. It gave participants the opportunity to post a photo of their child at a school activity on the Paynet Systems Facebook.com page. The person submitting the winning entry won $1,000 for their child’s school club, plus a $500 American Express gift card for their family for back-to-school purchases.
“With the way the economy is, we wanted to give back to the community through school projects and after-school programs,” said Jack Chevalier, president of Paynet Systems, Inc. “We wanted to focus on education. Times are tight and expenses do go up. A lot of these school clubs are struggling for financial assistance and we wanted to help out in a fun and creative way.”
Contestants submitted a current photo of their school-age child demonstrating creative school spirit. Entries were posted in the photo gallery. The winning entry was selected based on photo creativity, demonstration of school spirit and the number of “likes” posted by Facebook friends of Paynet Systems.
