Discover introduced rewarding ways for cardmembers to earn Cashback Bonus this spring, cutting their spending on restaurant and movies purchases. From April 1 through June 30, Discover Cardmembers visiting the online Account Center or calling 1-800-DISCOVER (347-2683), can sign up to earn 5% Cashback Bonus on up to $1500 in restaurant and movie purchases. Discover Cardmembers also can sign up to earn 5% Cashback Bonus on up to $300 in grocery store purchases from May 1 through May 31. After reaching these spending limits, cardmembers will still automatically earn up to 1% Cashback Bonus on all purchases every time they use their cards. Fiserv announced that the company signed 190 new enterprise content management (ECM) clients during 2011. Fiserv has also experienced strong year-over-year growth in this area, adding more than 1,000 new ECM clients during the last five years. In all, more than 3,100 clients use either “Director” or “Nautilus” from Fiserv for enterprise content management. Becky Shulman has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer with Card Compliant to lead Card Compliant’s finance, accounting, operations and investor relations initiatives. Most recently having served as Managing Director and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for LPL Financial, the country’s largest independent broker-dealer, Shulman was also with H&R Block for ten years, serving as Chief Financial Officer from 2007-2010. USA Technologies wireless, cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries announced data from its customer Knowledge Base shows that its “Two-Tier Pricing Program.” Focused on moving the small-ticket industry to cashless payments, USAT’s “Two-Tier” customer base, showed greater sales activity in the two weeks after deployment of the “Two-Tier Pricing Program” than before. The program gives operators of small-ticket, unattended terminals like vending machines the ability to charge two different vend prices”the standard retail price for credit/debit transactions and a lower discounted price for cash purchases”allowing operators to offset the cost of card processing. An extension of USAT’s “ePort Connect” service offering, the “Two-Tier Pricing Program” operators have the ability to adjust prices by account or by machine, utilizing USAT’s over-the-air-update system.
Ace Hardware customers can now apply for an Ace Rewards Visa Credit Card with an iPhone application developed by U.S. Bank. Downloadable at the iTunes store, the new app gives customers the opportunity to apply for and receive immediate credit to start their shopping at participating Ace stores. It also lets customers apply for an Ace Rewards Visa Credit Card, giving qualified cardholders a virtual credit card via their iPhone. They simply hand their iPhone with the virtual card displayed to an Ace Associate at checkout. Cardholders earn Ace Rewards points, receiving up to 5% back at Ace, 2% back on gas and groceries and 1% back everywhere else Visa is accepted. Users earn up to 10% back on quarterly categories and, once 12,500 points are earned, receive a $25 Reward redeemable at participating Ace stores.
TSYS has extended its long-term agreement with Veracity Payment Solutions to serve as their full-service payment solutions provider. Veracity will utilize TSYS’ POS solutions and systems to support its full-service payment technology to more than 12,000 businesses nationwide, for which it processes approximately $2 billion in transaction volume annually. Veracity is a merchant acquirer and provider of payment transaction processing services, related software applications and other value-added products to primarily small- and medium-sized merchants. It ultimately devises and delivers emerging payment solutions that have traditionally been available to only larger financial institutions and businesses.
