Western Union Company renews a multi-year agreement with Axcess Financial affiliate Check ‘n Go small-dollar lender. The 1,000-plus Check ‘n Go agent locations in the United States will continue to offer Western Union Money Transfer®, money order, and bill payment services. Also, Axcess Financial’s affiliate in the United Kingdom”Cheque Centre”will continue to offer money transfer services at its nearly 500 locations.
MoneyGram announced that PayPal’s 55 million active U.S. account holders can now initiate a withdrawal from their accounts – online or via mobile – and pick up the funds at any MoneyGram location in the United States. Later this month, PayPal customers will also be able to load money into their accounts at select MoneyGram locations in Dallas, New York and San Francisco, with additional locations scheduled to be rolled out during 2013. The new service supports an essential need for PayPal’s U.S. customers – particularly those who do not have a bank account or credit card – to fund and maintain a PayPal account, as well as withdraw cash and send money to friends and family.
MoneyGram signed an agreement with Fuzhou Rural Commercial Bank (Fuzhou RCB). Based in Fuzhou, one of the largest cities in the Fujian province of China, the agreement enables convenient money transfer service access for both urban and rural Fuzhou residents, and Chinese expatriates sending funds back home to family in Fuzhou. Money transfer services are now available at all Fuzhou RCB locations. China is the second largest receive country in the world with an estimated $60 billion of money transfer receives, according to The World Bank. Overseas Chinese travel worldwide, supporting foreign direct investment that generates transfers to China from about 150 countries. Through MoneyGram’s addition of Fuzhou RCB to the network of 327,000 agent locations, overseas Chinese can now send funds to family and friends in Fuzhou and outlying areas.
NCR Corporation designed a “virtual”, first line maintenance capability for Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) in order to maximize ATM uptime and better serve customers. The innovative service can help diagnose and resolve common ATM service opportunities significantly faster from a central help desk, without ever sending an engineer onsite. This new capability leverages BNZ’s use of NCR Predictive Services, which anticipates ATM hardware service opportunities before they occur. For BNZ, Predictive Services was a game changer and the impact was huge, as over 40 percent of BNZ’s second line hardware calls are now being resolved without disrupting customer use. BNZ saw this approach as the next stage of its ATM services operation and, together with NCR, have evolved what was initially just a concept into a complete operational solution.
