JCB continues to press on to reach the 200 countries and territories milestone this year with its Card Acceptance Network. The latest is its expansion into Belgium via Worldline.
JCB International (JCBI) has formally signed a License Agreement with Atos’ Worldline for building a JCB card acceptance network and to start JCB merchant acquiring operations in Belgium.
JCBI has been increasing its presence in Europe and is now accepted at about 25 million merchants worldwide including several million in Europe. This partnership will significantly increase the number of JCB merchants, which will improve the card acceptance for JCB cardholders visiting Belgium.
So far in 2014, JCBI signed easyCash GmbH (easyCash), an Ingenico Group company, to start JCB merchant acquiring operations in Germany and will soon begin acquiring in several additional European countries via easyCash. Also, merchant acquiring operations were started with ACLEDA Bank Plc., one of the major commercial banks in Cambodia. With this launch, JCB cards will be accepted at over 650 locations throughout Cambodia
