Billable transactions for Visa’s payment management company, CyberSource, grew 16% year-on-year (Y/Y) in the first quarter (Q1/14) to 1.85 billion, according to CardData. While the growth rate is solid, it has been edging down sequentially since peaking at 27% in the second quarter (Q2/13) of last year. Over 400,000 businesses worldwide use CyberSource and Authorize.Net brand solutions to process online payments, streamline fraud management, and simplify payment security.
Meanwhile, CyberSource has formed a strategic global partnership with Amadeus. The deal brings an integrated travel reservation and fraud management solution to airlines, travel agencies and other travel organizations worldwide.
CyberSource’s Decision Manager is being integrated into the dedicated travel Amadeus Payment Platform. As a result it can help travel organizations globally accept more legitimate bookings, while identifying potential fraudulent transactions and lowering operational costs. The combined solution will help travel businesses worldwide maximize revenue, reduce costs and improve the customer payment experience across multiple channels, such as online, mobile, face to face and call center.
RAM Research projects CyberSource transaction volume will top 2 billion by the end of the third quarter.
