Committed to creating an online ‘silk road’ for the new era, developing overseas channels for Chinese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and bringing Chinese products to the world, DHgate, a major B2B e-commerce platform, has integrated and deployed MasterCard’s MasterPass to enable a simplified online payment experience for its customers in China.
Launched in February 2013, MasterPass is currently accepted by over 40,000 merchants in ten markets including China, as well as Australia, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, United Kingdom and United States. China Construction Bank commenced use of MasterPass in March, becoming the first issuer in China and Asia to implement MasterPass with its digital wallet, LongPass.
In December 2013, DHgate and MasterCard became strategic partners, expediting seamless payment solutions for Chinese SMEs and creating convenience for clients all around the globe to source for Chinese products. The Company says MasterPass is a ground-breaking development in cross-border payments, enabling safer, more convenient online transactions, and sustaining Chinese SMEs activities around the world.
DHgate is the first merchant in China to go live with MasterPass.
