V+M Q3 U.S. Debit
Purchase Dollar Volume (PDV) on U.S.-issued debit cards jumped 7.6% year-on-year (Y/Y) in the third quarter of 2014 (Q3/14) to $452 billion, according to CardData.
CU Data Breach Costs
Credit Unions say The Home Depot data breach cost them dearly, to the tune of $57.4 million. About 7.2 million credit union debit and credit cards were affected by the breach.
Green Dot Q3/14
Prepaid card specialist Green Dot reported a 6% year-on-year (Y/Y) gain in revenues. Income increased 127% to $13.9 million for the third quarter.
Contactless UK
A new survey finds nearly half of all UK card users viewcontactless cards as one of the least secure methods of payment , behind mobile payments at 71%. Also, despite industry claims that contactless cards are now widespread, 71% stated that they still do not have a contactless-enabled card in their wallet.

Fuel card specialist FleetCor Technologies reported total revenues increased 31% to $295.3 million. Net income increased 21% to $95.5 million.
Heartland Payment Q3/14
The nation’s fifth largest payments processor reported record third quarter net revenue of $169.4 million, up 10.5% from the third quarter of 2013. Heartland Payment Systems also reported same store sales rose 1.8% and volume attrition was 12.6% in this year’s third quarter.
Western Union Q3/14
Western Union reported third quarter revenues increased 2% compared to the prior year period, or 5% on a constant currency basis. Operating income for the quarter rose 6%, despite increased costs from compliance activities.
