Visa (VS) Canada’s Gross Dollar Volume (GDV) rose year-on-year (Y/Y) 8.0%, on a local currency basis, in the fourth quarter (Q4/14). Growth in the region has been picking up in the past three quarters and will likely remain so through 2015.
For the fourth quarter GDV of US$66 billion, increased 8.0%, compared to 7.4% in the prior quarter, and 5.5% in the year ago quarter.
Purchase Dollar Volume (PDV) soared by 7.9% to US$61 billion in Q4/14, compared to 5.5% one-year ago.
Cash Dollar Volume (CDV) rose 0.3% to US$5 billion, compared to 6.0% in Q4/13.
VS has 48 million cards-in-force (CIF) currently in the Canadian region, compared to 46 million in Q4/2013. The total number of accounts rose to 41 million in Q4/2014, compared to 39 million for Q4/2013.
