GA-based acquirer TSYS reported a solid first quarter as total revenues for hit $662.2 million, an increase of 11.7% over the prior year.Income from continuing operations was $77.8 million, a whopping year-on-year (YOY) increase of 57.7%.
In the North America segment, TSYS transaction volume rose 42% YOY to 3.3 billion transactions. The gross number of accounts increased 32% YOY to 653 million.
For the International segment, TSYS transaction volume increased 11% YOY to 572 million transactions. The gross number of accounts rose 16% YOY to 71 million.
In the Merchant segment, TSYS POS transaction volume edged up 0.2% YOY to 985 million transactions. The purchase dollar volume (PDV) increased 5% YOY to 11.3 billion.
In the NetSpend (prepaid) segment, TSYS Gross Dollar Volume (GDV) rose 17% to $7.7 billion. The number of cards (90 day active) increased 15% to 4.2 million.
