In today’s CardFlash News Que: BOFA (Euromoney); FAPS (award); BATCHED.COM (EMV); and E-COMMERCE 4 (report).
BANK OF AMERICA – Bank of America Merrill Lynch won the highest number of global awards from Euromoney magazine, being named Best Global Loan House, Best Global Transaction Services House and Best Global Bank for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Euromoney 2015 Awards for Excellence.
FAPS – For the third year in a row, First American Payment Systems has won the Association of TeleServices International’s (ATSI) coveted Call Center Award of Distinction.
BATHCHED.COM – The Orange County Hispanic Chamber Of Commerce hosted an event for its members this week where Batched.com CEO Oscar Garcia educated attendants about the new technology requirements to accept credit cards. EMV Chip technology implementation deadline is October 1, 2015 and a recent study conducted by the Aite Group found that one-third of small- and medium-sized businesses are unaware of the technology or the deadline. The Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to support the development of the 30,000 Hispanic owned businesses in Orange County by providing opportunities for networking, legislative advocacy, access to capital, education and training programs. There is no better way to act on that mission statement then to educate members on new technology requirements that can save their businesses from being 100% liable for credit card fraud.
E-COMMERCE 4 – While e-commerce continues to grow, the tenants of marketing and creating a reputable, trusted business remain as old as the advent of trade. The way in which these tenants are applied, however, can be challenging with long-distance transactions and leave merchants wondering where they went wrong. Their unintentional – often undetected – failures to communicate with their customers effectively can lead to poor customer satisfaction and chargebacks from disgruntled customers.
