Brooklyn, NY-based Access One ATM, has partnered with ATM manufacturer Genmega to provide charitable donations at the ATM through a new program – Charity ATM.
Processed as a separate transaction, the Charity ATM program will run completely free of charge, on Genmega ATMs. No modifications to existing hardware is necessary; just a simple software upgrade.
Consumer charitable donations have seen a significant increase in the past few years – reaching over 72 percent of total contributions to charities, around $228.93 billion. Recent consumer surveys have also reported rising interest in community outreach through charity. A 2014 Nielsen survey, “Doing Well By Doing Good,” reported that 69 percent of Millennials want businesses to make it easier for consumers to get involved in societal issues.
Charity ATM will debut at the National ATM Council 2015 Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, and will undergo active testing in New York City throughout September.
Charity ATM currently supports the National Children’s Cancer Society with plans to adopt more charity partners in the coming months, and expand into other cities and states later this year.
