ShopKeep has acquired Ambur, an iPad and iPhone point of sale system for more than 1,500 restaurants. Also, ShopKeep ankled Andrew Gorrin as the company’s new Chief Marketing Officer.
Founded by former restaurateurs Ansar Khan and James O’Leary, Ambur provides a feature-rich set of options specifically designed for full-service, quick-service and fast casual restaurants, as well as bars and food trucks. Khan has already joined ShopKeep’s business development team, and the acquisition brings the rapidly growing company’s merchant base to more than 20,000.
With the acquisition news, ShopKeep is continuing its rapid momentum. The company recently announced the addition of a new CFO, $60M in fundraising, international expansion and partnerships with MasterCard and Heartland. Earlier this year, ShopKeep acquired Payment Revolution and began offering customized payment processing as an option to its merchants.
Andrew Gorrin started his career with Brodeur Worldwide and then spent five years with American Express in senior positions focused on customer engagement and acquisition for its small business division, OPEN. He was also a Senior Manager at Dove Consulting, where he led client engagements focused on the retail financial service sector.
Most recently, Gorrin served as Senior Vice President of Marketing for Web.com, leading the company’s customer acquisition strategy, its cross-sell and upsell programs, its inside sales team and managing the product portfolio for its custom website and social media product lines.
Gorrin’s appointment reflects yet another addition of veteran talent for the ShopKeep leadership team and underscores the company’s accelerated momentum. In the last three months, the company has brought on a CFO, raised $60M in funding, launched aggressive plans for international expansion and announced partnerships with industry leaders including Heartland, Transnational and MasterCard.
