PAYANYWHERE – PayAnywhere, the mobile point of sale solution available from North American Bancard, unveiled a new NFC reader is now capable of accepting Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay. The PayAnywhere Mobile reader, which was launched in August, is the first and only mobile credit card reader on the market to accept all three forms of contactless payments. The reader is available in Apple Stores nationwide and at apple.com.
AFFIRM – Affirm, led by PayPal Co-Founder Max Levchin, announced its installment payments product, offered to shoppers at checkout by hundreds of popular eCommerce websites, is now available to brick-and-mortar stores and telesales operations. To kick off Affirm’s in-store service, the San Francisco-based company announced it is rolling out a new product in Q4 of this year that approves consumers for a specific loan amount to make purchases at certain retailers, and issues the shopper a one-time use number, similar to a gift card, which can be used at checkout in-store or online. This new product is being made available to a limited number of merchants that sign up in time for the holiday buying season.
