NAB – North American Bancard (NAB), a merchant services companies and owner of the Velocity front-end gateway, has announced a partnership with Poynt, the creator of the Smart Terminal. Poynt’s Smart Terminal is the industry’s first open PCI PTS and EMV-certified ready-to-use device. Through this partnership, Poynt is utilizing Velocity as the gateway to securely process credit card transactions and NAB is piloting the Poynt terminal solution with its merchant community.
BUZZ POINTS – Buzz Points has inked INOVA Federal Credit Union, a member-owned financial cooperative headquartered in Elkhart, Ind., serving more than 32,00 members, including employees of over 500 companies in Indiana, California and North Carolina, for the Buzz Points shop local loyalty and rewards program. Buzz Points is free for consumers and allows credit union members to earn rewards while supporting the local economy by using their debit and credit cards for everyday shopping.
MASTERCARD – MasterCard Sri Lanka inked a partnership with Hemas Travels to offer extraordinary discounts on holiday packages around the world. MasterCard cardholders can avail up to 40% savings on Cosmos and Globus tours to several enchanting European and North American destinations. They will also be entitled to 15% savings on prime cruises aboard Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises.
MASTERCARD – Sub-Saharan African consumers see the value of new payment solutions and are demanding more innovative ways to pay, reveals MasterCard at Retail Congress Africa in Cape Town. These findings are from a new shopping and retail social listening study, the first of its kind undertaken by MasterCard with PRIME Research across South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya. A substantial 86% of the posts reviewed by the study concerned innovative payments, and the majority of those (84%) focused on digital wallets including MasterPass, Android Pay, Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
