MasterCard’s (MC) European region 3Q/15 Gross Dollar Volume (GDV) rose year-on-year (YOY) by 16.9% on a currency adjusted basis (FX) and solid compared to 3Q/14’s 12.1% YOY gain.
On a nominal basis, MC’s Europe GDV declined 5.9% to US$332 billion in 3Q/15, compared to US$320 billion in 2Q/15 and US$353 billion in 3Q/14.
Purchase Dollar Volume (PDV) rose YOY 14.8% on a currency adjusted basis (FX) in the third quarter to US$228 billion.The total number of Purchase Transactions (PTX) hit 4635 million, compared to 3765 million one-year ago.
MC’s Cash Dollar Volume (CDV) was up by 21.9% YOY FX to US$104 billion. The total number of Cash Transactions (CTX) hit 791 million, compared to 682 million one-year ago.
MC has 400 million cards-in-force (CIF) currently in the European region, compared to 374 million in 3Q/14. The total number of accounts rose to 382 million in 3Q/15, compared to 344 million for 3Q/14.
