MASTERCARD – MasterCard and CU Wallet are partnering to deliver a customized digital service to credit unions. CU Wallet will speed the development and deployment of mobile wallets and payment solutions for community financial institutions by offering the MasterPass digital service. It will also provide a seamless and secure shopping experience to credit union members wherever they shop – in-store, in-app and online – on the device of their choice.
ESERVGLOBAL – eServGlobal is powering a comprehensive mobile money platform for Djibouti Telecom to provide mobile wallets to citizens of Djibouti. The mobile money solution will be offered to all Djibouti Telecom subscribers to provide state-of-the-art cash management and e-payment services on mobile phones, such as cash-in/cash-out, airtime top-up, local transfers, international remittance, salary disbursement, bill and merchant payments.
GSMA – The GSMA has launched the Connected Women Commitment Initiative, aimed at reducing the mobile gender gap. Initial commitments by GSMA operator members, with over 75 million mobile internet and mobile money customers, will aim to connect millions more women in low- and middle-income countries by 20201. These operators will seek to increase the proportion of their female customers to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. This builds on the 15 million women already benefiting from female-focused services offered by the GSMA’s Connected Women operator partners.
