MasterCard’s Asia Pacific Middle East Africa (APMEA) region Purchase Dollar Volume (PDV) growth edged down year-on-year (YOY) to 13.3%, on a currency adjusted basis (FX) in the fourth quarter (4Q/15) to US$246 billion, compared to a 14.9% YOY growth rate in 4Q/14.
Based on PDV, the APMEA region produces the largest gross dollar volume (GDV) and PDV in US$ among
MasterCard’s four international regions.
The number of purchase transactions (PTX) soared 20.3% YOY in the fourth quarter to 3324 million, compared to 3124 million in 3Q/15 and 2764 million in the year ago quarter.
MasterCard’s GDV was up 10.9% YOY FX to US$363 billion in 4Q/15.
MasterCard’s APMEA Cash Dollar Volume (CDV) rose sharply by 14.5% YOY FX in 4Q/15 to US$139 billion. The total number of Cash Transactions (CTX) rose to 1214 million, compared to 1037 million one-year ago.
MasterCard has 555 million cards-in-force (CIF) currently in the APMEA region, compared to 482 million in 4Q/14. The total number of accounts rose to 520 million in 4Q/15, compared to 485 million for 4Q/14.
