The charge-off rate, seasonally adjusted (SA), among the top 100 U.S. banks for the second quarter (2Q/16) decreased 7 basis points (bps) sequentially (QTQ), but up 10 bps year-on-year (YOY).
On a not seasonally adjusted basis (NSA), the charge-off rate among the top 100 U.S. banks for 2Q/16, dropped 3 bps QTQ but up 10 bps YOY.
Compared to two years ago, the SA charge-off ratio is down 31 bps, and the NSA charge-off ratio is down 34 bps.
According to the Federal Reserve, the top 100 U.S. banks posted a SA charge-off rate of 3.01% for 2Q/16, compared to 3.08% in 1Q/16, and 2.91% for 2Q/15.
On a NSA basis the top 100 U.S. banks posted a charge-off ratio of 3.10% for 2Q/16, compared to 3.13% in 1Q/16, and 3.00% for 2Q/15.
