Samsung Pay unveiled a first-of-its-kind incentive program for a mobile payments platform in the U.S.: the “Samsung Rewards” program. For every transaction users conduct with Samsung Pay, enrollees in Samsung Rewards will earn points, which can eventually be redeemed for a variety of items, including gift cards to some of nation’s most popular retailers, prepaid Samsung Rewards Visa gift cards, Samsung products and more.
After a certain number of monthly transactions, enrollees will achieve different status tiers for that month to multiply the points they receive. Five transactions in one month, for example, will give a user “Silver” status and twice the points for every transaction they conduct using Samsung Pay. 20 monthly transactions awards a user “Gold” status, resulting in triple points, and 30 monthly Samsung Pay transactions puts a user in the “Platinum” tier where they earn quadruple points.
In addition, the program will award select active enrollees with “Instant Win” prizes, starting with a trip for two to Napa Valley, with new prizes rotating regularly.**
Users will be able to track their points and rewards status, browse offers, and redeem their points directly within the Samsung Pay app and eventually via Samsung.com.
Combining NFC with Samsung’s proprietary MST technologies, Samsung Pay provides consumers a way to pay almost anywhere you can swipe or tap a card at millions of merchant locations. Samsung continues to strategically expand its partnership ecosystem for Samsung Pay to provide greater flexibility, access, and choice for customers while enabling an easy and safe payment experience.
Samsung Pay is currently available in the United States on select Galaxy devices and wearables, including the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, S6 edge+, Note5, the Gear S2 and the Gear S3.
