A new survey finds more than 50% of professionals believe the use of mobile payments systems increases the risk of suffering a data breach. More than half accept that risk (53%) and noted that, for their company, customer convenience is more important than security.
Visa (VS) first quarter profits declined 3.0% year-on-year (YOY) or 0.5% on a currency adjusted basis (FX) to $1550 million. Global purchase volume rose 11% (FX) to $1.3 trillion and total transactions processed, by VisaNet, were 17.5 billion, an 11% increase over the prior year.
Gemalto reported first quarter revenue from its Payment & Identity segment surpassed the Mobile segment for the first time in the Company’s history at €369 million, representing 54% of total Company revenue. Total revenues for Q1/15 rose 28.9% to €686 million.
