UL achieves EMVCo Qualification

UL is pleased to announce that EMVCo has qualified the latest versions of the Collis CPA/CCD Level 2 Test Suites which are used to test card products.
The Collis CPA/CCD Level 2 Test Suites are part of the EMVCo test suite portfolio and test whether a card works according to EMVCo standards for CPA (Common Payment Application) and CCD (Common Core Definitions). The benefit of these test suites is that tests can be performed during the development process of a card so that any errors that may come up during certification are discovered during development. The Collis CPA Level 2 Test Suite (version 1.0.i) is designed to test EMV application behavior on CPA cards while the Collis CCD Level 2 Test Suite (version 4.3.b) is aimed at testing the minimum functionality required on a card to run an EMV transaction.

SureCloud adds PCI DSS 3.0 Toolset

SureCloud added new features and functionality to its cloud-based GRC platform in readiness for the new PCI DSS 3.0 compliance standard. i-Free Advances mWallet

i-Free has unveiled new functionality in its “Wallet” mobile app, offering a contactless transport card can be loaded on “Wallet”. The same app will also be used to acquire, store and manage discount coupons. Using NFC technology and QR codes, “Wallet” is now officially available for 8 smartphone models from HTC and Philips. i-Free introduced Russia’s first fully functional NFC Wallet app, which comes built into smartphones, in May 2013. The app uses i-Free TSM (Trusted Service Manager) platform, which has been certified by MasterCard. The MasterCard certificate authorizes the remote issuance of Mobile MasterCard PayPass® payment cards to mobile phones anywhere in the world. Today, i-Free TSM platform is the only certified solution of its kind in the CIS, and one of the first in the world.

First Data and Discover Announces Merchant Acquiring Agreement

First Data Merchant Solutions direct-to-market merchant acquiring business and Diners Club International announced their merchant acquiring agreement. Allowing First Data Merchant Solutions to accept all cards on the Discover Global Network, including Diners Club and Discover transactions- alongside Visa, MasterCard and American Express- the agreement will be especially important to First Data Merchant Solutions customers in the travel, hospitality and entertainment sectors who service and supply international visitors to the UK. DataCash Announces Latest Payment Gateway Client

DataCash, a MasterCard Company, partnered with digital agency Tangent Snowball, to offer their existing clients the benefits of DataCash’s payment gateway. Tangent Snowball offers a unique range of services including bespoke enterprise e-commerce, built upon their open-source framework ‘Oscar’. Oscar is built for flexibility and is used in production by Tata Group, PepsiCo and Carlsberg amongst others. The new partnership with DataCash combines the passion from both companies to provide industry leading technology for online retailers. ACI Completes Acquistion

ACI Worldwide announced it has completed the acquisition of Official Payments Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of electronic bill payment solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, ACI Worldwide acquired Official Payments in an all-cash transaction for $8.35 per share. Official Payments currently has more than 3,000 customers representing access to over 100 million end users. The company processes approximately 20 million payments and over $9 billion in volume annually.

Bank Better Initiative

BS Citizens Financial Group, Inc. announced the launch of Bank Better, a company-wide program to make banking simple, clear and personal for Citizens Bank and Charter One customers. Bank Better launches with a signature approach to overdrafts — no overdraft fee for transactions of $5 or less – and several other significant updates to the bank’s offerings.This feature applies to an unlimited number of transactions of $5 or less. Replacement of a tiered system of overdraft fees with a simple flat fee of $35 per item for overdrafts and returned items greater than $5. There are no changes to Sustained Overdraft Fees, which apply when an account is overdrawn by any amount, for three or more consecutive days. Complete overdraft policies will be available online starting November 8 when the simplified policies take effect.

MultiSIM Smart Card

All in one SIM card released by Oberthur Technologies Friday improves flexibility at warehouses and point-of-sale. The card contains the first classic 2FF, micro 3FF and nano 4FF all in one card. It is a key progress on the telecom market as it dramatically improves the user-friendliness of the SIM card. Concretely, it means that the same SIM card can be used in any mobile phone. If end-users want to change from one form factor to another, they do not need to ask their operator for a new SIM card but can just deplug or replug their MultiSIM.
