Santander has launched its Mobile Banking service for customers using any mobile phone or handheld device with Internet access. Many of the most popular features of Santander’s Online Banking service available on desktop devices. Also, its App for the iPhone and iPad will also provide the same secure service for banking on the go, including a helpful single platform where customers can see information for all their Santander current accounts, savings and credit cards in one place. This lets users pay bills or make other payments; make credit card payments; transfer funds; contact Santander securely through the online bank with any questions about service; and view two years’ transaction history.
Transact Network European prepaid card issuer is partnering Ixaris to offer its services on the Visa network. Ixaris prepaid payment applications, which launched Visa Europe’s first virtual Visa programme in 2003, is now working directly with Transact Network to issue both virtual and plastic prepaid VISA cards for its leading EntroPay and Opn payment solutions. Transact Network has worked with Ixaris since 2009 to issue MasterCard products. This new deal signifies the Gibraltar-based company’s first large scale Visa implementation since announcing earlier this month its ability to offer services through Visa Europe.
Western Union global payment services acquired Finint S.r.l. Finint manages more than 10,000 subagent locations across Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Western Union previously owned 30 percent of the company prior to acquiring the remaining 70 percent. The transaction complements Western Union’s acquisitions of leading European network agents FEXCO in 2009, and Angelo Costa S.r.l. earlier this year.
SATO international leader in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry announced a new business partnership with Wincor Nixdorf retail IT solutions. This agreement will see the two company’s partner in the Iberian region to provide auto identification, data capture and POS solutions to vertical markets, with a particular focus on the retail sector in Spain. EUFISERV Payments announced the start of POS operations within the EUFISERV Card Scheme. This marks a significant milestone in the development of a new European Card Scheme as requested by the market and the European authorities, with POS functionality. It is a Chip & PIN based and fully SEPA compliant and compliant with European competition law. As of today the 45,000,000 EUFISERV cardholders of the German Savings Banks can make purchases at the 226,000 POS terminals managed by the EURO 6000 in Spain.

KleinPartners Capital acquired Hypercom Spain S.A. and Hypercom UK to launch Spire Payments, for which it has appointed Kazem Aminaee President. The Company will retain all of its Spanish and UK management teams as well as nearly 200 staff and existing premises. The new business has the exclusive sale rights to Hypercom’s range of Optimum and Artema Modular products in the UK and Spain. Spire Payments is an independent supplier of payment solutions and with this development, consolidates its position in the respective markets.
SafetyPay secure payment facilitator and clearinghouse benefiting online shoppers, online merchants and banks worldwide has been granted a license as a Payment Institute through the Payment Services Directive (PSD), which enables the company to offer cross border payments throughout Europe.
