PJSC “First Ukrainian International Bank” (FUIB) locations now facilitate MoneyGram global money transfers. FUIB is a large, privately owned bank with two decades of operations in Ukraine’s financial market. It is listed among the country’s top 10 banks serving more than 25,000 corporate customers and nearly 1.5 million individuals. Because of a high emigration rate, about 86 percent of customers in the country receive funds from family, friends and business associates. According to the World Bank, many Ukrainians are moving to countries including Russian Federation, Poland, the U.S., Kazakhstan, Israel, Germany, Italy and Spain, and often send and receive money to and from loved ones back home.
Ukrainian Processing Center (UPC) ePayment processing chose Web FASTest from Paragon Application Systems, for their ePayment testing platform. UPC selected Web FASTest because it was the only solution that provided a centralized, web-based testing platform for use by UPC customers, vendors and internal users for certification testing, function and regression testing, and development of new ISO 8583 financial message interfaces. Web FASTest is the hub of UPC’s testing and development program. UPC Member Banks conduct online pre-certification testing and online certification using Web FASTest. Outside developers use the software development kit in Web FASTest to develop and test their own ISO 8583 financial message formats. Internal users employ Web FASTest for functional testing and plan to use it for regression testing, stress testing and building detailed testing reports.
Fiserv partnered Mellon Ukraine to offer UniCredit Bank its “Currency Manager” solution to optimize the bank’s cash reserve levels and maximize transportation capacity. The Integrated Currency Manager from Fiserv is a web-based cash supply chain management and optimization tool that automates precise cash forecasts for multiple cash points, including ATMs, branches, vendors and vaults. It combines complex forecasting functionality with historical trends to reduce currency outages and expensive emergency deliveries to restock empty ATMs. It also optimizes transportation schedules. Through accurate forecasting, the solution eliminates excess currency inventories, increases the availability of capital for investment and ensures cash points are stocked.
BPC Banking Technologies Open System e-payment solutions launched Visa payWave products in Ukraine. Powered by BPC’s SmartVista, the Bank’s customers can enjoy the speed and convenience of contactless payments at POS devices. Low value transactions can be completed in less than a second, without the need for a PIN or signature. The entire project took only three months to complete, including the certification process by Visa. The deploying bank, Credit Dnepr, has been using SmartVista to power its payment business since 2007. BPC’s SmartIssuer, part of the SmartVista suite, supports full card management including extremely rapid product development, streamlined application processing, comprehensive cardholder servicing and, in conjunction with SmartPro, card personalization and production for all card types, including EMV.
Integration of the “Global Money” Ukrainian payment system with “WAY4” payment processing system, developed by OpenWay, allows banks to connect up to 400 types of paid services and develop alternative channels for interacting with clients. The synergy between Global Money and WAY4 system makes the process of starting joint projects with banks significantly easier. Many financial institutions already work on OpenWay’s card processing, allowing the elimination of expenses for reworking the system, while the Global Money payment system has direct contracts with companies to which payments are made. Currently, 24 service providers are available Oschadbank ATM menus.
Western Union global payment services and PrivatBank made available a new option for sending and receiving Western Union money transfers- directly from their iPhone and other idevices. Through PrivatBank’s payment application “Privat24,” a client needs only to have a PrivatBank card and to set up the Privat24 application onto the mobile phone or device. The application can be downloaded free in iTunes App Store and Google Play for Android. Currently over 700,000 clients use PrivatBank’s mobile payment application Privat24, whereas the bank registers nearly 2,000 new subscribers every day.
Fiserv announced First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB) implemented its “Integrated Currency Manager” to help address and manage cash reserve requirements across its network. Fiserv, along with its local implementation partner, Mellon Ukraine, has completed the initial phase of the roll-out – reducing the operational cash reserves for FUIB’s branch and ATM network — and the bank is already seeing some remarkable results. FUIB chose the Fiserv solution because it was looking to stabilize cash reserve levels throughout its network of branches and ATMs, using a technology solution to help optimize cash management while minimizing operational expenses.
