First Data Corporation introduced the next phase of “Pogo>,” a mobile payment solution for the small business and emerging merchant community in the U.S. The “Pogo>” solution is a business-grade solution that enables credit, signature debit and cash acceptance anywhere in the U.S. the merchant has wireless coverage. It allows a merchant to combine a web-enabled smartphone or tablet with a mobile application and secure mobile card reader to create a POS device that leverages First Data’s proven technology, infrastructure and broad distribution channel including relationships with financial institutions and others. According to the Aite Group, 50 percent of merchants claim they would not shift to a non-bank service provider1, suggesting many merchants prefer working with a trusted bank partner for their end-to-end financial needs.

Offering strong authentication in a convenient slim design, DIGIPASS 280 provides a comprehensive transaction data signing and authentication solution that banks and other organizations can use to effectively combat Internet fraud by replacing static or paper-based password systems with dynamic one-time passwords (OTPs) and e-signatures that are calculated with DIGIPASS algorithms. DIGIPASS 280 supports up to four different native time-based applications: two OTP and two e-signature applications. The OTP-applications generate strong dynamic passwords with a limited validity. With a push on the button, DIGIPASS 280 displays an OTP each time a user wants to remotely log on to an application, website or network. The two applications each use their own cryptographic secret to calculate the OTPs which greatly enhances security.
USA Technologies entered into three new exclusive agreements with existing customers during the third quarter ending June 30, 2013, adding to the exclusive agreements already entered into in Fiscal 2013. The three agreements call for exclusive use of USAT’s comprehensive ePort Connect® service and are all three years in duration. The new exclusive customers, City Vending Company, Fresh Brew Group and American Food and Vending Corporation, are all regional vending companies. As of March 31, 2013, USAT had over 4,500 customers and 196,000 connections to its ePort Connect service, increases of 59% and 32%, respectively, since the same period in the prior year.
