MoneyGram remittance concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, launched a unique music album, “CRICKET FOR PEACE.” The “CRICKET FOR PEACE” album a popular Indian film music singer is the culmination of a three-month-long program from February – April 2011 during the ICC World Cup 2011. MoneyGram’s Cricket For Peace was a multi-country, multi-lingual initiative conducted in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka and attracted compositions from more than 100 bands. Cricket For Peace was a theme-based music contest that linked cricket with world peace.
Advanzia Bank credit card issuer has renewed its agreement with TSYS to process its consumer credit card portfolio for undisclosed terms. As part of the new agreement, Advanzia will convert its portfolio from TSYS’ Prime platform to its “TS2” processing platform. Advanzia issues more than 1.5 million MasterCard credit cards to consumers in both Luxembourg and Germany, transacting all of its business online with no physical bank branches. Advanzia was established in 2005 and has been a client of Card Tech Limited, now TSYS Card Tech, since that time.

MoneyGram International will soon introduce its cash-to-account or credit-to-bank account money transfer service. Set to launch on May 31, this will let users transfer money from MoneyGram locations and on MoneyGram’s website (www.moneygram.com) directly into the bank accounts of recipients in the Philippines. At launch, the program will enable funds to be received by account holders at Banco De Oro (BDO) Unibank and customers of 19 other major banks. An additional 36 banks are expected to begin offering the service this year. The cash-to-account service is also available for customers of another 19 major commercial banks in the Philippines including Allied Bank, Asia Trust, Asia United Bank, Bank of Commerce, Bank of the Philippine Islands, China Bank, Citibank, Development Bank of the Philippines, East-West Bank, HSBC, Land Bank, Maybank, Metrobank, Philippine National Bank, Planters Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, Security Bank, Union Bank and United Coconut Planters Bank.
Emirates NBD has launched its “DoubleSecure” service designed to enhance the security of existing Emirates NBD Credit and Debit Cards. The service, which has been launched in partnership with Visa and MasterCard, lets Emirates NBD Cardholders to use a personal password to further protect online transactions by adding an extra layer of security. The “DoubleSecure” service is available through ‘Verified by Visa’ and MasterCard “SecureCode” global anti-fraud systems of Visa and MasterCard, and is available only on merchant sites supported by these systems. It requires customers to confirm their identity as the authorised cardholder and ensures that the purchase can be completed only with password identification.

Workers’ Equity Holding (WEH) payroll processor currently handling around 100,000 cards in the region, inked a partnership with Al-Bader Exchange, the leading exchange house in the country, to launch a unique payroll service targeting the UAE’s sizable migrant worker population. The solution enables migrant workers to receive their salaries on special ATM cards, issued by Al-Bader Exchange, and access their cash through a ‘private network’ of ATM machines installed by Workers’ Equity at Al-Bader Exchange Houses across the country.
