TSYS Posts 3Q/10 Revenues of $433.2mm

TSYS outsourced payment services reported its 3Q/10 total revenues of $433.2 million, an increase of 1.0% over 2009, while operating income was down 10.6% compared to 2009. Total revenues were up 2.6% and operating income was down 4.7% compared to 2009. With this, sequential quarterly revenues increased 2.9% and operating income increased 12.9%; same client transactions were up 5.3% in North America and up 4.3% in International; and transactions grew 1.1%. These results are thanks in part to the sale of TSYS POS Systems and Services and the Company having purchased 3.1 million shares of its stock on the open market for $45.1 million, leaving 6.9 million shares remaining for purchase under the current approved share repurchase plan. TSYS offers issuer- and acquirer-processing technologies that support consumer- finance, credit, debit, healthcare, loyalty and prepaid services for financial institutions and retail companies around the world.

TSYS announced has signed a multi-year payment services agreement with Bank of Montreal for its consumer and commercial credit card portfolios in Canada and the US. With this, TSYS will provide account processing and other value-added services to Bank of Montreal, the largest issuer of MasterCard credit cards in Canada. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Bank of Montreal total assets of $397 billion as at July 31, 2010, and 38,000 employees, offering wealth management and investment banking products and solutions. TSYS outsourced payment services offers a range of issuer- and acquirer-processing technologies that support consumer-finance, credit, debit, healthcare, loyalty and prepaid services.

TSYS Sees 2Q/10 Revenue Growth of $19mm

TSYS reported results for the 2Q/10, with total revenues of $433.7 million for an increase of 5.3% over the year ago figure. This was thanks in part to increased overall transaction volume and expense control, with 1H/10 having seen client revenues grow 3.6% while operating income was up 18.1%. Meanwhile, merchant POS transactions and FNMS transaction volumes each grew 8.5% for the quarter. However, income from continuing operations decreased 5.2% to $49.6 million compared to last year. The acquisition of FNMS on April 1 is being designated as positive, allowing TSYS to further diversify across the payments value chain.

TSYS to Support Tesco Bank UK Credit Cards

TSYS has been chosen to support Tesco Bankâs credit card business with
full customer account management services using the “TS2” processing
platform. The Tesco Bank credit card portfolio has been processed on
TSYSâ TS2 platform since 2001 through The Royal Bank of Scotland Group
(RBS). Tesco Bank will be transferring to its own version of the TSYS
platform in the second quarter of next year. Tesco Bank has more than
six million customer accounts, currently across 28 products and
services. It is the sixth largest credit card provider in the UK with
2.4 million cards in circulation.
